Celebrities say goodbye to Benedito Ruy Barbosa at a wake; see photos
The writer and novelist Benedito Ruy Barbosa died this Tuesday (7) at the age of 95. According to information released by HCor (Hospital do Coração), the author had a complication of chronic kidney failure.
In the last three years, Benedito had a history of hospitalizations due to recurrent urinary tract infections.
With television classics such as "Cabocla", "Sinhá Moça", "Pantanal" and "Rei do Gado", he left a legacy in Brazilian television drama.
The author's wake will take place from 3pm to 9pm this Tuesday (7), at the Funeral Home, in the Bela Vista neighborhood, in São Paulo. The ceremony, which is open to the public, brings together family, friends, artists and admirers of Benedito Ruy Barbosa's career.
Among the figures present are the author's children: Ruy Maurício, Edmara Ruy Barbosa, Edilene Ruy Barbosa, Flávio Ricco and Marcelo Ruy Barbosa.
The novelist's grandchildren were also present at the wake: Bruno Luperi and Paula Barbosa. Furthermore, fans and professional colleagues support the author at the moment of celebration and farewell.
