The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) updated the situation of Neymar, who underwent medical examinations this Monday morning (8). According to the entity, the number 10 has been showing "good progress" in relation to his grade 2 injury to his right calf.


"Athlete Neymar underwent magnetic resonance imaging this Monday. The examination showed good progress in his treatment, within the expected parameters. He will follow the recovery and physical preparation process planned by the Brazilian National Team's medical committee", said the CBF in an official statement.

Neymar has been undergoing intense treatment to recover from the injury in Santos' clash against Coritiba, valid for the Brazilian Championship, on May 17th. After the match, the club detected a two-millimetre edema in the calf. Since then, the player has not entered the field again.


Apart from the friendlies against Panama and Egypt, the number 10 is still a doubt for the Brazilian team's debut in the World Cup, against Morocco, this Saturday. On the field or not, Neymar will be present at the MetLife Stadium accompanying his teammates.


"What's the problem?"
Neymar watched Santos' victory over Deportivo Cuenca in the Copa Sudamericana, last Tuesday (28), before introducing himself to the national team.

When asked about the condition of his right calf, the star replied: "It's here, in one piece."


Then, a reporter asked whether this would be a problem for the World Cup. Neymar was incisive. "What's a problem?" said the number 10 of the Brazilian team.
