CBF reveals reason for Raphinha's departure against Haiti; find out more

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) informed the reason for Raphinha's substitution during Brazil's 3-0 victory over Haiti this Friday (19), in Philadelphia, in the second round of Group C of the World Cup.

According to the organization, number 11 had to leave the match in the first half after feeling pain in the back of his right thigh.

The discomfort appeared after 38 minutes. Raphinha crouched on the lawn and then sat down, showing discomfort. The team's doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, entered the field to assist him and spoke to the player, who showed concern during the evaluation.

While receiving care, Rayan started warming up on the edge of the lawn. Moments later, the substitution was confirmed, with the young striker taking his place.

The Barcelona player will begin treatment and will be re-evaluated in the coming days. So far, there is no information about the severity of the injury or a possible recovery time.

After the match, coach Carlo Ancelotti also commented on the athlete's situation and explained Rayan's choice to replace him.

"Raphinha will be evaluated tomorrow. At this moment, we don't know exactly what happened. I included Rayan because he showed a lot of quality. He has different characteristics from Raphinha's. There are small details that determine the entry of one or another player. Because of these details, I chose Rayan", said the Italian coach.
