The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced the opening of an extraordinary transfer window for clubs in national competitions. The registration period will be held between the 9th and 17th of July, before the resumption of the Brazilian Championship, interrupted due to the 2026 World Cup.

The measure was adopted after bringing forward the 19th round of Série A. Although the World Cup is scheduled to end on July 19th, four Brasileirão matches will be played on the 16th and 17th, which led the entity to create an additional interval for player registrations.

In this window, clubs will only be able to make transfers involving Brazilian football teams. According to the CBF, the decision seeks to maintain the sporting balance of the competition. The second official window of the season, scheduled between July 20th and September 11th, remains unchanged and will continue to allow national and international negotiations, as provided for in the General Registration Regulations (RGR).

Despite the opportunity to reinforce the squads before the championship returns, Corinthians will still not be able to register new athletes. The club has remained under a transfer ban imposed by FIFA since May 21, due to a financial issue related to the signing of midfielder José Martínez, from the Philadelphia Union, in the United States, in August 2024.

Even with the restriction, the black and white board continues to monitor the market. Football executive Marcelo Paz revealed, in an interview with Identidade Corinthiana, that the department maintains a list of possible reinforcements for different positions, aiming for a possible release to register athletes in the next window.

Corinthians returns to the pitch for the Brazilian Championship on July 23rd, when they host Remo, at 7:30 pm, at Neo Química Arena. Before that, the team plays a friendly against Cascavel, on July 12th, at 4pm, in Paraná.
