In Laos, four survivors managed to escape on their own after more than 10 days trapped in a cave and the possibility of new rains threatens the search for two people who remain missing.

CNN senior correspondent Will Ripley, who is at the scene, reported that rescue teams are evaluating whether to resume the search for the two residents.

"There are still two missing and the new information we've just received is that the divers up there are making a decision," Ripley said.

When talking about the potential challenges rescuers will face at the site, Ripley said that if rain floods the cave again, it could be very dangerous for divers to go down there.

"Another factor is the location in the cave, where these two survivors would have to be, an area that divers have not yet been able to safely access," he said.

"We're hearing thunder now," Ripley added. "We are hearing thunder almost as if it were a signal, the weather is starting to change."

Indonesian diver Audita Harsono also said rescue teams do not yet know the exact status of rescue operations to help the other two missing residents.

It is believed that these two residents entered the cave earlier, separately from the five who were found together and have already left the place.
