Actress Cássia Kis gave a statement to the Police Station for Racial Crimes and Intolerance Offenses (Decradi), on Friday afternoon (22), after being accused of transphobia in an episode that occurred last month in a shopping mall in Rio de Janeiro.

Cássia was accompanied by state deputy Márcio Gualberto and lawyer Deryk Renato. After the hearing, Gualberto published a video on social media commenting on the actress's statement.

"Cássia spoke only the truth, only the facts, and we were very well received and treated by all the civil police", stated the parliamentarian.

In the publication, the deputy said that he accompanied the actress to the police station and declared support for the defense.

"I accompanied dear Cássia Kis to DECRADI, where she was able to give her statement, telling the truth of the facts, with great calm and wisdom. Dr. Deryk Renato, my lawyer, who now represents Cássia, is also closely following the entire development of the facts. As far as it depends on me, she will never be alone in this battle", he wrote.

Lawyer Deryk Renato also commented on the statement and stated that the procedure took place without complications. "We are very confident that everything will be resolved in the best way, that justice will be done, that the truth will prevail as always and will continue to be defended. It is our full support for Cássia and that we continue in this fight", he said.

Remember the case
The accusation involves an episode that occurred in April in a bathroom at Barra Shopping, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.

According to the report of Roberta Santana, a transsexual woman who works there, she was using the women's bathroom when she was approached by the actress. In a video published on social media after the episode, Roberta stated that she was being prevented from staying in space.

"Actress Cássia Kis is being transphobic with me. She's saying that I can't be here. I have a document and, even if I didn't, I'm a trans woman", she declared in the recording.

Roberta stated that, even after entering one of the booths, she continued to hear comments considered transphobic. According to the report, upon leaving the bathroom, the actress and an employee of the establishment continued to question her presence in the place.

The woman also said that she heard from the actress that "Brazil was lost" because there was a "man" in the women's bathroom and stated that she would seek measures in the case. To date, the case remains under investigation.

CNN Brasil tries to contact Cássia Kis and Roberta. The space remains open.
