Corinthians had an important reinforcement in the re-presentation of the squad this Monday (29), at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. After defending the Peru team in the last FIFA Date, midfielder André Carrillo returns to activities and begins preparation for the season's continuation alongside the rest of the group led by Fernando Diniz.
The number 19 received four extra days of vacation compared to the other players due to his commitments with the Peruvian team at the beginning of June. During the period, Carrillo participated in two international friendlies.
In the first of them, he played for 56 minutes in the victory over Haiti, in Miami, in the United States. Three days later, he entered the field for 28 minutes in the 3-1 defeat to Spain, in Puebla, Mexico. The matches were part of Peru's preparation for the 2028 Copa América.
In addition to returning to training, the midfielder is experiencing a decisive moment in relation to his future at Parque São Jorge. Carrillo's contract with Corinthians ends on December 31, 2026 and, from the beginning of July, the player will be able to sign a pre-contract with any interested team, being free to leave the club free of charge at the end of the contract if there is no renewal.
The contractual situation of the experienced midfielder has also gained repercussions in Peruvian football in recent weeks. In an interview given at the beginning of June, striker Paolo Guerrero, formerly of Corinthians and currently at Alianza Lima, stated that he would like to see Carrillo once again wearing the colors of the club where he started his career.
Despite speculation, the midfielder remains integrated into Corinthians' planning for the remainder of the season. The technical committee is counting on the player to compete in the round of 16 of the Conmebol Libertadores, the sequence of the Brazilian Championship and other competitions in the second semester.
Since arriving at Corinthians, in 2024, André Carrillo has played 96 matches with the black and white shirt. During the period, he scored three goals, distributed six assists and participated in winning the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil in 2025, in addition to the Supercopa Rei in 2026.
The expectation is that the Peruvian will normally resume training during the off-season, a period that will be used by the technical committee to prepare the team before the official resumption of competitions.
