Carriage Wagon Gets Loose on Track, Crashes Head-on and Arrests Driver at Ironworks in Nortão de MT

A serious traffic accident shocked drivers on the MT-320 highway, close to Comunidade Del Rei, in Carlinda (300 km from Sinop), in the Nortão of Mato Grosso. A trailer wagon suddenly detached, entered the oncoming lane and collided head-on with another white Mercedes-Benz Actros 2651 trailer. The driver of the Actros, a 38-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage after the violent impact. Teams from the highway concessionaire had to act quickly to extricate him to rescue him. Due to a suspected fracture in one of his legs and several bruises on his body, he was taken to the Antônio Martines Municipal Emergency Room. The accident caused a temporary blockage of the road for removal work with a tow truck. The causes are still being investigated, but the main hypothesis is a mechanical failure in the semi-trailer coupling. Accidents like this serve as a warning to drivers and transport companies about the importance of preventive maintenance of heavy vehicles. Fortunately, there are no records of other serious victims.
