♬ Carlinhos Brown bets on the Afro-Brazilian symphony. On Friday, June 5th, the Bahian artist releases the first volume of the live album "Afrossinfoicidade". This is a record of the show presented by Brown at the Concha Acústica of the Castro Alves Theater, in Salvador (BA), with the Ouro Preto Orchestra under the baton of maestro Rodrigo Toffolo.
The intention was to unite Afro-Brazilian percussion with symphonic language and, from the mixture, give another treatment to songs from Brown's original songbook, such as "Argila", "Dois grudados", "Frases ventias", "Very grateful axé", "Ocaso" and "Segue o seco" - all included in the first volume.
The second volume of the album - scheduled for June 26th - gives symphonic and percussive treatment to hits by the trio Tribalistas (formed by Brown with Arnaldo Antunes and Marisa Monte), such as "Já sei casonar" and "Velha Crianças".
Songs composed by Brown with Marisa Monte and released in the singer's solo discography, such as "Amor, I love you" and "Vilarejo", are also in the repertoire of "Afrossinfoicidade II".
