Cariúcha says he suffered racism in a luxury store in SP: "He followed me"

Influencer Cariúcha, 42, said she recently experienced a case of racism in São Paulo.

According to her, the case would have occurred in a luxury shopping mall in Morumbi, west of the capital of São Paulo. Cariúcha said on RedeTV!'s Superpop program that she had been followed by store security guards.

"I went into a store with a bag from another designer store, I was wearing a cap and very well dressed. I was accompanied by my secretary, who is blonde and white. We went in together and then she went one way and I went the other."

According to Cariúcha, at that moment, a security guard at the location started following her and whispering to another person over a walkie-talkie.

"I kept walking and she followed behind me. I said 'no, it must be all in my head' because people say it's mimimi. But it was getting boring, I went into a hallway and she followed," he said.

On the program, the influencer stated that another security guard would later join the first. At this time, she took off her cap and asked if there was any problem. Cariúcha said that the situation only ended when she was recognized by employees at the establishment.

"They only stopped following me so people from the store came to take a photo."
