Carioca, Tarcísio criticizes Marina and Tebet for launching candidacies in SP
The governor of São Paulo Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) criticized this Wednesday (8) the pre-candidates for the Senate Marina Silva (Rede) and Simone Tebet (PSB) for not being natives of the state in which they are trying to be elected.
The statement was recorded on Guilherme Derrite's (PP) social media during a closed meeting between Republican pre-candidates. "São Paulo is not a springboard", added the former Secretary of Security.
Thank you for your words and unconditional support, great Governor @tarcisiogdf.

"With all due respect to the two candidates for the Senate from the other parties, they didn't start doing politics in São Paulo, they didn't elect this state to serve. They went to serve Mato Grosso do Sul and Acre, and got the red card from Mato Grosso do Sul and Acre. If they were to run there, they wouldn't be elected there. And you can be sure, they won't be here either. They won't be. Because we won't let them."
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Tarcísio ran for the first position in the state of São Paulo in 2022, when he changed his electoral domicile to run for Palácio dos Bandeirantes at the request of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), for whom he was Minister of Infrastructure. Marina, born in Acre, as well as Tebet, coming from Mato Grosso do Sul, also contested the first election for São Paulo in the same year, when both were elected as federal deputies.
Despite being elected, the current governor's change of address was contested at the time. To run for the São Paulo government, he transferred his title and address to São José dos Campos, claiming to have family in the city. Despite the questions, the TRE-SP (Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo) granted the candidacy request.
The governor's comment comes two days after the new round of the Datafolha survey, which registered Marina and Tebet in the lead for the two vacancies for Casa do Salão Azul, while the candidates supported by Tarcísio, André do Prado (PL) and Derrite, appear behind third-placed Ricardo Salles (Novo).
