Cannes Film Festival: "Fjord", by Cristian Mungiu, wins the Palme d'Or

The feature film "Fjord", by director Cristian Mungiu, won the Palme d'Or during the 79th Cannes Film Festival this Saturday (23). The main prize of the night was attended by renowned and established names from the international audiovisual circuit.

The award became the second Palme d'Or for the Romanian director, who won the title for the first time in 2008 with the film "4 Months, 3 Weeks and Days". Furthermore, the film's distributor, NEON, won the seventh Palme d'Or.
