The film "Elefante na Névoa", which is co-produced by Brazil, was recognized at the 2026 Cannes Festival with the Jury Prize at the Un Certain Regard exhibition, this Friday (22).

The work was the result of the work of Brazilian producers Bubbles Project and Enquadramento Produções. In addition to Brazil, Nepal, Germany, France and Norway also participated in the co-production.

The Un Certain Regard (A Certain Look) exhibition takes place in parallel to the Palme d'Or and aims to give more space to new talents in the audiovisual area. In the exhibition, the Jury Prize represents a kind of second place to the competitors.

The big winner in the Un Certain Regard category was the film "Everytime", by Austrian filmmaker Sandra Wollner.

"Elephant in the Mist"
The film tells the story of Pirati, the matriarch of a Kinnar community, in a Nepalese village. She dreams of running away to experience love. However, one of her daughters disappears, and she begins to investigate and choose between her desire for freedom and her responsibilities to the community.

In Brazil, the film does not yet have a release date, but will be distributed by Imovision.
