Iran and the United States have signaled in recent days that negotiations for a peace agreement are progressing. On Saturday (23), President Donald Trump stated that a broader agreement had already been "largely negotiated".
The country's chief Iranian negotiator and foreign minister are in Qatar to continue diplomatic discussions.

US will not "rush into a deal"
In a post on Truth Social on Sunday morning (24), Trump stated that the US will not "rush into a deal" with Iran, adding that the blockade imposed on Iranian ports will remain in "full force and effect" until an understanding is reached.
A senior US administration official told CNN that a "framework agreement" between the US and Iran gives the countries "60 days to reach a final agreement."
Trump stated on Sunday that, "if" he closes a deal with Iran, it will be different from the one signed during the administration of former President Barack Obama: "It's exactly the opposite, but no one has seen it or knows what it will be like."
This Monday (25), US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that negotiations "are still ongoing", adding that there was "something quite solid on the table" regarding the possibility of Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz and beginning "a meaningful and time-bound negotiation on nuclear issues".
Trump also highlighted on Monday that negotiations are "progressing well", but warned that military operations could be resumed if an agreement is not reached.

Iran says deal not imminent
Iranian state news agency Tasnim reported on Sunday that the regime had not agreed to any new measures related to its nuclear program as part of the talks.
Despite this, a high-ranking Iranian source told CNN that "a lot of progress has been made" in negotiations in recent days, adding that this could mark a "turning point" in efforts to end the war.
Iran's Foreign Ministry commented on Monday that a "degree of understanding" had been reached with the US on many issues, but stressed that an agreement was not imminent.
Israel
In a post on X, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to reports of a possible agreement between the US and Iran, stating that "Iran will never have a nuclear weapon."
Trump told Netanyahu that he supports the country's desire to "maintain freedom of action against threats on all fronts, including Lebanon," an Israeli source told CNN on Sunday.
