Neymar and 25 others: Ancelotti announces Brazil's squad for the World Cup
Coach Carlo Ancelotti announced the Brazilian team's squad for the 2026 World Cup this Monday (18). The 26 chosen to take Brazil to the hexa, in total, are worth around 908.7 million euros (equivalent to R$5.31 billion), according to Transfermakt, a website specialized in football market values.
The platform estimates the values of athletes based on market demand and takes into account factors such as transfer fee, age, performance, future expectations, salary and contract length of the players.
Despite being the most popular athlete of the national team, Neymar is far from being the most expensive among those called up. The status of Brazilian player most valued by the market goes to striker Vinícius Junior, from Real Madrid, estimated at 150 million euros - or R$876 million, when considering the euro at R$5.84.
The second most expensive player among those called up is striker Raphinha, 29 years old, also from Barcelona, with a market value estimated at 80 million euros - the equivalent of R$467 million.
