California Governor, Gavin Newsom, accused this Monday (15) the President of the United States, Donald Trump, of having instructed the Department of Justice to open a political investigation against him and his wife. Trump's political rival, however, provided proof.

"Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my aggressive tweets. He's coming after me because I'm considering running for President. (...) He hates that I've been drawing attention to his lies. Trump is the most corrupt president in US history (...) and anyone who challenges him ends up on his hit list. Trump chose the wrong target, we have nothing to hide," Newsom said in a video posted on the social network According to the governor of California, this attitude of the agents "is not because they found a crime, but because they are simply trying to find one".
Newsom, a Democratic politician, and Trump have maintained a relationship of mutual criticism for years, clashing over important issues such as climate change, oil pipelines and the sending of National Guard troops to the state by the Republican president last summer.
