Caiado should announce Kassab as vice-president in the race for President

Ronaldo Caiado, PSD pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, is expected to announce Gilberto Kassab (PSD) as vice-president on his ticket this Wednesday (1). The chosen one is president of the party and considered a great political articulator. Kassab was part of the secretariat of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

Caiado presents himself as a name from the traditional right that can be an alternative to Bolsonarism. In conversations with politicians and in interviews, he cites positive indicators in public security and the economy obtained during his tenure as governor of Goiás.

The connection with agribusiness is also mentioned. Caiado remembers that he was a candidate for president against Lula in 1989 and highlights that since that time he has been opposed to the PT.

Despite the speech, there is no progress in research. Different institutes indicate that Caiado has between 2% and 3%. Not even the revelations of Flávio Bolsonaro's (PL) connection with the Master case made the pre-candidate rise in the polls.

With the choice of Kassab as vice-president, the PSD goes into the presidential race with a pure ticket. Kassab defended Tarcísio as the right-wing nominee to run against Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). As this was not the Bolsonaro family's option, they launched a candidate.
