To date, eight deaths remain confirmed, all among bus occupants. According to the most recent update from firefighters, the eight bodies experienced different levels of charring: five victims were found in a more advanced state of charring and another three had partial charring.

The teams continue to work on removing the bodies and officially identifying the victims. According to firefighters, the process is complex due to the condition of the hardware and the damage caused by the fire.

The number of injured people was also updated and rose from six to ten people rescued. In total, the partial balance points to 18 victims: 17 occupants of the bus and one person who was in the trailer.

The Civil Police must identify the victims after the investigation is completed. BR-251 remains closed in both directions to deal with the incident.
