Bruno Fernandes is named the Premier League's best player of the season

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes was elected this Saturday (23) the best player of the Premier League season.

Captain of Manchester United, the Portuguese was decisive in the campaign that ended with the club in third place and guaranteed a place in the next edition of the Champions League.

In addition to the eight goals scored, Bruno Fernandes equaled the record for assists in the history of the Premier League in a single season, reaching 20 assists on goal. The brand was shared by Thierry Henry, Arsenal idol, and Kevin De Bruyne, former Manchester City player.

The Portuguese could still become the competition's single record holder on Sunday (24), when United face Brighton in the final round of the championship.

Bruno led the Premier League in creating chances, with 132 opportunities created for his teammates. Second in the ranking was Dominik Szoboszlai, from Liverpool, with 89.

The Portuguese overcame names such as Gabriel Magalhães, David Raya and Declan Rice, from Arsenal, as well as Erling Haaland, from Manchester City.

Earlier this month, Bruno Fernandes was also named player of the year by the Football Journalists' Association of England. In addition, he won the Sir Matt Busby award for Manchester United's best player of the season for the fifth time.
