Bridge stolen from a city in MG was sold for R$700,000 to a farmer

The metal bridge stolen in the municipality of Prados, in the Campo das Vertentes region, was reportedly sold for around R$700,000 to the owner of a farm, according to information obtained by Itatiaia.

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais confirmed that the structure was located and that the case remains under investigation.

The theft occurred in the rural location known as Route 58, close to the village of Pitangueira. The metallic structure was approximately 20 meters long and 5 meters wide, being made of solid iron.

The investigations initially indicate that the authors would have used appropriate machinery and tools to cut the structure, as well as a large vehicle to transport the material.

During the surveys, the access road to the site was also found to be obstructed, a circumstance that may indicate prior planning of criminal action.

Official expertise was called in and investigative work continues with the aim of identifying those responsible, clarifying the dynamics of the facts and promoting the recovery of the stolen property.

The police reported that other information may be released in due course, as long as it does not compromise the progress of the investigation.

According to the Minas Gerais Civil Police, the metal bridge was located in the Mogol district, a rural area in the municipality of Lima Duarte (MG). The buyers would have purchased the land from a farmer, through an intermediary, and it is located in an environmental reserve.
