Germany's elimination from the World Cup became a reason for celebration for part of the Brazilian fans. After the 5-4 penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay, this Monday (29), Brazilians invaded the official profile of the German team on Instagram to provoke their rivals.

The publication from Germany with a photo of the team and the caption "The End" - which means "the end" in Portuguese - was quickly taken over by comments in Portuguese.

Most of the messages made reference to the 7-1 rout inflicted by the Germans on Brazil in the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup, in a feeling of symbolic revenge after the victory of the Paraguayan team.

"Karma never forgets. Enjoy," wrote one fan. "Where is the great Germany since 7-1? A weak team, without talent", said another.

Rivalry between continents also appeared among the provocations. "German, do you still think Europe is better than South America?", commented one profile.

The Brazilian team's achievement of five world titles was also used as an argument by fans. With the German elimination, Brazil remains the only five-time champion in the history of World Cups.

"Only one country has five stars", wrote one internet user. Another posted: "What's a 7-1 after five World Cups?"

Some also thanked the Albirroja team for eliminating one of the competition's favorites. "Thank you, Paraguay. Today I sleep happily", said one of the most liked comments on the publication.

There was also room for mockery. "When Germans cry, we laugh here in Brazil" and "Cry no" were some of the messages left by Brazilians.

Paraguay now awaits the result of the clash between France and Sweden to find out their opponent in the round of 16. The team returns to the field next Saturday (4), at 6pm (Brasília time), at Lincoln Financial Field, in the United States.
