Brazilian woman wins world Candy Crush tournament and wins millionaire prize

Bahian student Luana, 21, was the big winner of the Candy Crush Saga world championship, the cell phone game. She received a prize of more than US$1 million.

The 2026 Candy Crush All Stars took place in London, England, and the Brazilian managed to become the winning player of the edition. She took home US$1 million (about R$5.1) and a ring studded with sapphires, rubies, emeralds and pink sapphires, engraved in gold on the Icebox wedding band, Variety magazine said. The idea is that the jewelry reproduces the goodies that are part of the game's visuals.

The competition took place remotely for a few weeks, with more than 25 countries participating in the contest. The arts student managed to get a place in the final with ten other competitors and went to the English capital to become champion.

In an interview with the magazine, Luana said that being in the championship is a childhood dream coming true. "I've been playing for as long as I can remember. I used to be very imaginative. I dreamed of competing in live tournaments, I imagined a presenter commenting on my moves, the location, the opponents. The fact that 'Candy Crush All Stars' exists and I can compete in it feels like it came straight from my imagination. I feel like I'm honoring a younger version of myself, literally living her dreams."
