Brazilian team has worst World Cup campaign since 1990

Brazil ended its participation in the 2026 World Cup this Sunday (5). With a goal from Haaland in the 22nd minute of the second stage, the Norwegian team did better and secured a place in the quarterfinals.

This is Brazil's worst campaign in World Cups since 1990, when they fell to Argentina, in one of the most painful eliminations in Brazilian history.

Agentina won 1-0, and Albiceleste's qualifying goal was scored by Claudio Caniggia with an assist from Diego Armando Maradona, who played with a swollen left ankle.
