Brazilian basketball team called up for 2027 World Cup qualifiers

The Brazilian men's basketball team was called up for the last window of the first phase of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers. Coach Aleksandar Petrovic released this Monday (15) the list of 13 athletes for the commitments against Venezuela and Colombia.

The group will perform on June 23rd, in Panama, where they will carry out training until the 29th. During the period, the team will play a friendly match in Panama City, against the host country, on the 28th.

Next, the delegation heads to Barquisimeto, where they face Venezuela on July 2. Then, they will end their participation in the first phase against Colombia, in Cali, on July 6th.

The Brazilian team is already guaranteed in the second phase of the Qualifiers. In the next stage, scheduled to begin in August, Brazil will face the United States, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

In total, seven teams from the Americas will win a place in the 2027 Basketball World Cup, which will be played in Qatar.
