Brazilian aviation breaks passenger record in April

Data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), released this Wednesday (20), show that passenger movement in Brazil registered records in April and the first four months of 2026.

From January to April this year, 33,735,228 passengers flew across the country, a number 6.5% higher than the 31,663,888 recorded in the same period in 2025. Never, since the beginning of the agency's historical series, in 2000, had the level of 33 million passengers been reached.

Last month, 8,006,624 passengers were registered, an increase of 1.1% compared to April last year, when 7,917,698 traveled by plane in the country. It is the first time that Brazil has surpassed the mark of 8 million passengers in a month.

International flights

Brazil also broke records in the movement of international passengers, both last month and in the first four months of the year.

In April, 2,224,730 international passengers were registered, a number 4.2% higher than the 2,133,788 recorded in the same period in 2025.

The first four months of 2026 added 10,574,548 passengers, 11% more than the 9,504,350 observed last year.

Total

Considering domestic and international flights, Brazil recorded the best movement in history in the first four months, reaching 44,309,776 passengers, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period last year, when 41,168,238 passengers were registered.

The number of domestic and international passengers (10,231,354) in April was 1.7% higher this year than in 2025 (10,051,486 passengers).
