Brazilian Air Force arrives in Venezuela; two other planes are expected to take off towards the country this Saturday

Brazilian Humanitarian Mission takes Field Hospital to Venezuela
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reported that the humanitarian mission arrived at the Venezuelan Air Force El Libertador Military Base, in Maracay.
In addition to doctors, the KC-390 Millennium aircraft, from the First Troop Transport Group (1st GTT) - Zeus Squadron also took sniffer dogs and specialized equipment to support Venezuela in the rescue efforts following the earthquakes recorded in the last week.

The Brazilian mobilization was coordinated by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC/MRE).
The mission has an Urban Search and Rescue team and brings together professionals from the National Secretariat for Protection and Civil Defense (Sedec/MIDR), military personnel from the Military Fire Brigades of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Paraná, as well as specialists from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).
A KC-390 Millennium aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) took off this Friday (26) from the São Paulo Air Base (Basp), in Guarulhos, Greater São Paulo, with rescue teams and supplies to support the victims of the earthquakes recorded in Venezuela last Tuesday (23).

▶ Context: Two tremors of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded in the Wednesday night (24) in an interval of less than a minute. Until the last update of this report, authorities confirmed 235 deaths and 4,300 injuries.
According to the Venezuelan president, Delcy Rodríguez, and governments of other countries, among the delegations that are already in Venezuela are:
Mexico;
Chile;
El Salvador;
United States;
Qatar;
Spain;
member countries of UN.
The team is expected to stay in Venezuela for 15 days, but the deadline can be extended for another 15 days. The priority at this first moment is search and rescue work. It's a race against time.
"When a building collapses, pockets of air form. So, people often remain inside these pockets with a considerable survival time of up to five, ten days", says Karoline Magalhães, spokesperson for the SP Fire Department.
The Minister of Defense, José Múcio, is expected to go to Venezuela next week to coordinate humanitarian aid. This Saturday (27), two other planes are expected to take off towards the country with medicines and a field hospital. (understand below)
Civil society is also mobilizing. Brazilians and Venezuelans who live in Roraima are collecting donations.
"The situation there is already bad and, with what is happening, it gets worse. If you have something to donate, it could be food, food, help... You are welcome", says volunteer Ubeimi Giraldo.
Brazilian government will send third plane to the country this Saturday
The Brazilian government informed, this Saturday (27), that it will send the third humanitarian flight to Venezuela, with medical kits and the complementary module for the installation of a field hospital.
The aircraft should take off this Saturday afternoon from Galeão Air Base, in Rio de Janeiro. The operation is part of the international effort to reinforce aid to victims of the earthquakes that hit the country last week.
In a statement, the government informed that the set of medicines is aimed at providing assistance in emergency situations and contains essential items such as antibiotics, analgesics, anti-inflammatories, injectable solutions, bandages, gauze, infusion devices, syringes, gloves, plasters and masks.
"In total, Brazil will send five calamity kits, with a total of 111,800 medicines and supplies to Venezuela. With the kits, around 1,500 people can receive care for a month. Donations to the neighboring country do not compromise the stock of the Unified Health System (SUS)", stated the government in a statement.
