Brazil will no longer require visas from Chinese tourists

From next Monday (11), Chinese citizens with a valid passport will be able to enter Brazil for short-term visits, without the need for a visa. The measure is adopted in reciprocity with the Chinese government's decision to grant exemptions to Brazilian citizens traveling to China.

Brazil will no longer require documents from Chinese citizens for visits of up to 30 days, which cannot be extended, with the possibility of multiple entries. For each migratory year, a period of 12 months beginning on the date of the visitor's first entry into the national territory, the stay must not exceed 30 days.

Chinese citizens who visit the country for the purposes set out in art are exempt from short-stay visas. 29 of Decree No. 9,199, of November 20, 2017, such as tourism, business, traffic and artistic or sporting activities.

The exemption, valid until December 31, 2026, does not cover work activities. Chinese nationals who intend to stay in Brazil for a period exceeding 30 days per migratory year or for purposes not mentioned in the paragraph above must apply for a visa through the Visa Center booking portal.
