Brazil's friendly rival, Panama announces squad for the 2026 World Cup

Panama announced, this Tuesday (26), the list of 26 players called up for the 2026 World Cup. Member of Group L, alongside England, Croatia and Ghana, the team led by Thomas Christiansen will face Brazil in a friendly at Maracanã, on May 31st.

Initially pre-summoned, striker Kadir Barría, from Botafogo, ended up outside the definitive list. Before the World Cup, the Panamanians still face the Dominican Republic and Bosnia in preparatory friendlies.

Panama's debut in the World Cup will be against Ghana, on June 17, in Toronto, Canada. Afterwards, the team faces Croatia and England in the group stage.

This will be only Panama's second participation in the World Cup. The first took place in 2018, in Russia, when the team finished last in the group after defeats to Belgium, England and Tunisia.

- Goalkeepers: Orlando Mosquera, Luis Mejía and César Samudio.
- Defenders: César Blackman, Jorge Gutiérrez, Amir Murillo, Fidel Escobar, Andrés Andrade, Edgardo Fariña, José Córdoba, Eric Davis, Jiovany Ramos and Roderick Miller.
- Midfielders: Aníbal Godoy, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Carlos Harvey, Cristian Martínez, José Luis Rodríguez, César Yanis, Yoel Bárcenas, Alberto Quintero and Azarías Londoño.
- Forwards: Ismael Díaz, Cecilio Waterman, José Fajardo and Tomás Rodríguez.
