Brazil's Anthem leads the NY Times ranking and is voted the most beautiful of the World Cup

Brazil achieved recognition outside the four lines at the 2026 World Cup. In a ranking published this Friday (19), the North American newspaper The New York Times chose the Brazilian National Anthem as the most beautiful among the 48 countries participating in the tournament.

The publication analyzed the anthems of all the teams present at the World Cup and gave a score of 9 out of 10 to the Brazilian composition, which surpassed traditional football countries and even the three hosts of the competition.

"It lasts just over two minutes and yet it doesn't seem to be enough. There are many words sung very quickly most of the time, talking about not fearing battle, about a fearless colossus and a beloved homeland, but the highlight is, without a doubt, a glorious 28-second orchestral introduction", says the newspaper's text.

"For the match against Morocco, there weren't quite the emotional tears and melodrama that we saw before the famous home semi-final in 2014, but that was probably for the better. One of the best anthems in the world", adds the NY Times about the Brazilian Anthem.

The recognition takes place during the 2026 World Cup, a competition that brings together teams from all continents and is held jointly by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
