Brazil's coffee harvest for the 2026/27 harvest reached 52% of the planted area by July 1, below the 60% recorded at the same time in the past and falling short of the five-year average of 55%, agribusiness consultancy Safras & Mercado reported this Friday.

Harvest progress increased eight percentage points compared to the previous week, due to more favorable weather conditions.

The faster pace has not yet translated into greater availability due to the time needed to dry and process the coffee, wrote analyst Gil Barabach.

The Arabica harvest is at 42%, compared to 50% last year and a five-year average of 45%.

The harvest of canephora (conilon/robusta) is at 72%, below last year's 77%, but in line with the average.
