Brazil reaches 233.8 million tons in agricultural storage, says IBGE

Agricultural storage capacity in Brazil reached 233.8 million tons in the second half of 2025, according to data from the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) stock survey. The volume represents an increase of 1.1% compared to the first half of the same year.

The survey recorded 9,668 active establishments in the period, a number 0.5% higher than that observed in the previous survey. Among the regions of the country, only the South showed a reduction in the number of establishments. The others registered growth, with emphasis on the North Region, which increased by 4.7%.

Silos continue to be the main storage structure in the country. In the second half of 2025, the useful capacity of this type of installation reached 124.7 million tons, equivalent to 53.3% of the total national capacity. Compared to the previous semester, there was growth of 1.2%.

Bulk and bulk warehouses appear in second position, with a capacity of 85.8 million tons. The volume corresponds to 36.7% of the country's total storage capacity and represents an increase of 2% compared to the first half of the year.

Conventional, structural and inflatable warehouses totaled 23.3 million tons of useful storable capacity, equivalent to 10% of the national total. In this segment, a reduction of 2.2% was recorded compared to the previous survey.

Regionally, the South Region concentrates 42.7% of the country's total silo capacity. In this region, silos represent 65.6% of regional storage capacity.

In the Central-West, bulk and bulk warehouses predominate, accounting for 51.0% of regional capacity. The region has 60.6% of the national capacity for this type of structure.

Conventional, structural and inflatable warehouses have a greater share in the South Region, with 34.1% of national capacity, followed by the Southeast Region, with 32.2%. Together, the two regions account for 66.3% of the total capacity of this type of storage in the country.
