Brazil puts on a show in attack, beats Italy and maintains unbeaten record in the VNL

Brazil beat Italy 3 sets to 2 this Sunday (7), in a match held at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium, in Brasília. This was the fourth consecutive victory for the Brazilian team, which remains undefeated in the Women's VNL.

The wingers were the biggest highlights of the Brazilian team in the triumph over the current Olympic and world champions. Ana Cristina and Júlia Bergmann led the attack with 22 and 18 points, respectively.

Diana, the team's central defender, also shone in the victory in splits of 25/15, 25/22, 22/25. 26/24 and 15/12. She finished with 15 points, 11 from attack and four from blocking. On the Italian side, the opposite Ekaterina Antropova led the European country with 18 goals scored.

In previous matches, Brazil beat the Netherlands, Dominican Republic and Bulgaria. Now, the team led by coach José Roberto Guimarães returns to the courts on June 17th, at 10 am (Brasília time). The second week's appointments will be in the city of Ankara, Turkey.
