Brazil keeps writing more than 50 years old in 2026 World Cup debut

Forward Vini Jr. opened the scoring for the Brazilian team against Morocco this Saturday (13), in the Canary Islands' debut at the 2026 World Cup. With this, Brazil maintains a record of more than 50 years of always scoring in its first game at the World Cup.

In history, Brazil, the only team to participate in all World Cups, only failed to score in the debut of the 1974 edition, when they drew goalless with Yugoslavia.

Since then, the Brazilian team has always scored in its debuts in the main football competition on the planet.

Vini Jr. also joined names like Pelé, Romário and Reinaldo, responsible for opening Brazil's scoring in other World Cup editions. Click and check the list.
