Brazil has already sent 12.5 tons of medicine and 174 professionals to Venezuela

The federal government reported that, as of this Monday (6), 100 water purifiers and 12.5 tons of medicines, vaccines and health supplies in humanitarian aid had already been sent to Venezuela. Furthermore, 174 Brazilian professionals are in the country to help earthquake victims.

There is also a field hospital in La Guaira, in the north of the neighboring country. The place has up to 30 beds, surgical and emergency care capacity, a children's module and preparedness for pandemics. Currently, 93 Brazilian Navy personnel work at the site.

In total, there were five humanitarian flights from the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) and one commercial flight to the Venezuelan regions affected by the tremors on June 24th. At least 3,342 people have already died as a result of earthquakes.

According to the Brazilian government, 71 military firefighters, four Civil Defense specialists and six technicians from Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) were also sent. Professionals help in the search for possible survivors.

Earthquake
At least 3,342 people died due to earthquakes recorded in Venezuela, according to the country's Ministry of Information. The latest number of fatalities represents an increase of 388 people from the previous update.

The U.S. Geological Survey said there is a high probability that the final total will exceed 10,000 deaths.

According to official data, more than 16 thousand people are homeless. Some of them live in shelters organized by the government, while others remain in improvised camps. A widely used unofficial count puts more than 41,000 missing.
