Brazil has a 99.95% chance of qualifying for the second phase of the World Cup

The Brazilian team achieved, this Friday, its first victory in the 2026 World Cup by beating Haiti 3-0, at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia. Matheus Cunha scored twice. Vinícius Júnior also left his mark.

With the victory, Brazil reaches four points and is at the top of Group C due to goal difference. Morocco has the same four points, but the African team's goal difference is +1, while Brazil has +3.

According to Opta's supercomputer, four points should be enough for any team to advance to the second phase. The chances are 99.95%.

In third place in Group C is Scotland, with three points. Haiti is now at zero and has no more chances of reaching the Scots, since the first tiebreaker criterion is direct confrontation, and the Haitians lost to the European team in their debut.

The final round is scheduled for next Wednesday, 24th, at 7pm (Brasília time). The Brazilian team faces Scotland, in Miami. Meanwhile, Morocco measures forces with Haiti, in Atlanta.

To guarantee first place, Brazil needs to beat Scotland and maintain a better goal difference than Morocco.

If they take the lead, the Brazilian team will play again on the 29th, a Monday, at 2pm, against the second placed team in Group F, in Houston. If they come second, Brazil will have to face the leader of Group F, in Guadeloupe, on the same day 29, at 10pm.

In the event of placing third, Brazil will have to wait for the other classifieds to be defined to find out who they will play against.
