Where will the next World Cup be held?
The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by three countries: Spain, Morocco and Portugal. However, three initial phase matches will be played in South America, in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, as part of the centenary celebrations of the first edition of the World Cup, held in 1930.
Uruguay will host the commemorative game in Montevideo, in honor of the country that hosted and won the first World Cup. Argentina and Paraguay will also host one match each, in recognition of Argentina's runner-up finish in 1930 and the fact that Paraguay is home to the headquarters of CONMEBOL, the world's first football confederation.

Dates of the next World Cup
The 2030 World Cup calendar will be adjusted to accommodate the three centenary commemorative matches in South America, before the official opening of the tournament in Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
The idea is to guarantee travel, rest and preparation time for the teams involved, without extending the total period of player release in relation to the 2026 World Cup.
Check the scheduled calendar:
8 and 9 June 2030: commemorative games in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay
13 and 14 June 2030: opening ceremony and first official games in Morocco, Portugal and Spain
15 and 16 June 2030: debut of the other teams from the groups of Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay
June 21 and 22, 2030: second round of these groups
July 21, 2030: 2030 World Cup final
According to the format approved by FIFA, the calendar will not require extra release days for clubs, players or national teams. Holding matches in South America is also presented as a way of bringing the tournament closer to fans in the region, in honor of the first World Cup, played in 1930.
