Brazil confirms third flight with humanitarian aid to Venezuela
The Brazilian government announced that it will send, this Saturday afternoon (27), a third humanitarian plane to Venezuela to help the victims of the earthquakes. The new flight will carry medication kits and the complementary module for the installation of a field hospital in the country.
Earlier, around 11am on Saturday, another FAB (Brazilian Air Force) flight will take off from Galeão Air Base, in Rio de Janeiro. This aircraft carries an advanced trauma unit from the Brazilian Navy Field Hospital, military personnel to operate the hospital, and water purifiers.
There is also a first plane from the Brazilian government sent to help the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela. The soldiers landed at around 11:40 pm (Brasília time) on Friday (26) at El Libertador Air Base, of the Venezuelan Air Force, in Maracay.
According to Palácio do Planalto, in total, Brazil will send five calamity kits, with a total of 111,800 medicines and supplies to Venezuela.
With this, around 1,500 people can receive care for a month. The government guarantees that donations to the neighboring country do not compromise the stock of the SUS (Unified Health System).
Other humanitarian flights
The first plane sent by the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) to assist the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela landed last night at El Libertador Air Base, of the Venezuelan Air Force, in Maracay.
This is a KC-390 Millennium aircraft that transports doctors, sniffer dogs and an Urban Search and Rescue team, made up of professionals from Sedec/MIDR (National Secretariat for Civil Protection and Defense), military personnel from the Fire Departments of the Brazilian states, as well as specialists from Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency).
In addition to the teams, the humanitarian aid flight carries equipment and supplies to reinforce assistance actions for victims of the earthquake, which occurred last Wednesday (24), which left at least 920 people dead and more than 1,400 injured.
The mission was authorized by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and is conducted by the First Troop Transport Group (1st GTT) - Zeus Squadron, forming part of the mobilization coordinated by ABC (Brazilian Cooperation Agency), linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The north coast of Venezuela was hit, on Wednesday (24), by two of the biggest earthquakes to affect the country in more than a century. Authorities warn that the number of victims could increase.

The tremors were felt across the country, in neighboring Colombia and Brazil. Videos geolocated by CNN Brasil show extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure across Venezuela, including in the capital, Caracas.
An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale occurred about 100 miles west of Caracas, followed less than a minute later by a magnitude 7.5 tremor, according to the United States Geological Survey.
