Brazil begins preparation for the World Cup in Teresópolis; learn programming
The Brazilian team begins preparations for the friendly against Panama, scheduled for next Sunday (31), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The clash marks the first stage of the team's preparation towards the 2026 World Cup.
The movement began late in the afternoon on Tuesday (26), with the arrival of members of the technical committee and the National Teams board at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis, where the group will remain concentrated for a period of activities between the 27th and 30th of May. Midfielder Casemiro was the only athlete to present himself in advance.
The main technical team, led by coach Carlo Ancelotti, accompanied by general coordinator Rodrigo Caetano and manager Cícero Souza, arrives in the mountainous region this Wednesday morning (27).
In the same period, the arrival of the rest of the selected athletes is expected, who will immediately begin medical and clinical evaluations.
To optimize logistics and avoid heavy traffic on the highways, the CBF chartered helicopters to transport the players to the training center, ensuring the squad's punctuality and safety.
Starting work
Work on the field begins on Wednesday afternoon with a training session closed to the press. In the following three days, journalists will have free access to follow the first 15 minutes of the activities, in addition to participating in the scheduled press conferences.
The group will be reinforced by three young promises from Rio's youth football categories to join the training sessions. Goalkeeper Léo Nannetti, from Flamengo, will be part of the delegation both at Granja Comary and on the trip to the United States, meeting the commission's requirement to work with four athletes in that position.
In addition to him, midfielder Felipe Souza, from Botafogo, and defender Bruno Ribeiro, from Vasco, both from the under-20 category, were called up to complete the activities of the main squad.
