Strengthening the relationship between Brazil and the United States was the focus of the Brazil-U.S. Industry Day, held in New York during Brazilian Week. Promoted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the meeting brought together businesspeople, investors and authorities to discuss cooperation paths between the two countries.

The event sought to expand dialogue on topics considered strategic for the industry, such as innovation, digital transformation, critical minerals and production integration. The proposal was to bring the private sector closer to discussions on industrial competitiveness and strengthen the bilateral relationship in a global scenario of economic and technological changes.

"The partnership between Brazil and the USA is extremely important for the industry. It is the first destination for exports of high added value, of high technological intensity, exports that bring a multiplier effect of great importance to the Brazilian economy", stated Constanza Negri, manager of trade and international integration at CNI.

According to the CNI, more than 90% of bilateral trade between Brazil and the United States is linked to intermediate products, used directly in the production processes of both countries. This characteristic helps to explain the level of industrial integration between economies.

Productive integration and global challenges
The meeting also took place amid discussions about tariffs, trade barriers and changes in the international economic scenario. For the CNI, in addition to trade negotiations, the relationship between countries increasingly involves technological cooperation and industrial innovation agendas.

"When Brazil and the USA sit down to discuss, there are a series of important topics. Firstly, eliminating tariff measures and non-tariff barriers. There are a series of measures adopted by this current US government that cause concerns from the point of view of an increase in export taxes. But our agendas are also based on a cooperative relationship, which is of such relevance to Brazilian industry", added the CNI manager.
