BR-251 was fully reopened this Sunday afternoon (24) after the accident between a bus and a trailer that left eight people dead in Santa Cruz de Salinas, in the North of Minas Gerais. According to an update from the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG), traffic began to flow again in both directions around 4pm.

Despite the opening of the lanes, the impact of the closure still causes slowdowns on the highway. According to an estimate provided by the teams that worked on the incident, the congestion reached around 70 kilometers in both directions of the road.
