Book Fair has an audience of 93 thousand people; see best-selling titles

Between May 30th and June 7th, the fifth edition of the Book Fair brought together around 93 thousand visitors on the lawns of Charles Miller Square, in front of the Pacaembu Stadium. With this, the event is consolidated as one of the main literary events in South America and becomes part of the official calendar of the capital of Apulia.

The edition brought together 170 publishers, 141 authors and 240 free activities, with names such as Carla Madeira, Jeferson Tenório, Ana Maria Machado, Silviano Santiago, Vera Iaconelli participating in conversations with the audience.

This year, the best-selling book at the Livraria Travessa stand - which is the fair's official bookstore - was the launch of the publisher Seja Breve, the title "Elogio à Saudade", by 82-year-old author Fernando José de Almeida. The work is an essay dedicated to his daughter who died in 2023.

In second place is Gregorio Duvivier's new book, "Aos Pés da Letra", and the Fair was attended by the actor on June 3, bringing together a large audience around the conversation with the comedian.

The general director of the Book Fair, Paulo Werneck, assessed the success of the fair as a space for readers to find new paths in literature. "We are proud that The Book Fair is this space for literary and editorial discoveries, in addition to the long-awaited reunions with the public's most beloved authors", he reflected in a press release.
