Bear attacks steel mill employee in Japan

A bear injured four people in a residential area in the Sasakino district of Fukushima, in northeastern Japan, this Tuesday (2).
Images from security cameras captured the moment of one of the attacks, which occurred at the steel company in the region.
The black bear appears and chases an employee near the entry. As the man, in his 20s, tries to escape, the bear knocks him to the ground. In the video, the bear then enters the factory yard and injures a second employee, a man in his 60s.

The bear later injured a third person, a male employee in his 60s at another company. A woman in her 80s, a resident of the neighborhood, was also attacked and injured, the Fukushima City Fire Department said.
The three men suffered minor injuries and the woman had moderate injuries.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the bear had not been captured. Two nearby schools were closed.
Japan's Environment Ministry said 13 people would die in more than 230 bear attacks in 2025, higher than the number of fatalities and attacks in any previous year.
