Corinthians' 4 x 0 victory over Brothers, last Wednesday (9), in the Campeonato Paulista Feminino U20, marked a special moment for the black and white team. After about a year away from the field, defender Glória Gasparini officially returned to action after completing recovery from an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee.
The defender entered the field in the 37th minute of the second half, replacing Dany Pereira, and played her first match for the Under-20 category. Until suffering the injury, Glória played for the Corinthians U17 team, also led by coach Julia Passero. Together, they won the 2025 Brazilian Under-17 Women's Championship, with a 2-0 victory over Grêmio in the final.

The injury occurred during training in 2025 and forced the athlete to undergo surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament. During the recovery period, Glória was left out of the base competitions, including the São Paulo Women's Football Cup, played at the end of last year.
On June 23, the defender announced, through social media, that she had been medically discharged after completing all stages of the rehabilitation process.
"Today I close a cycle that marked my life. A few months ago, during training, I suffered an injury to my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). It was a difficult time, full of challenges, pain, uncertainty and learning. But it was also a period in which I learned to trust God more, to value every small evolution and to never give up on my goals.
After a lot of dedication, physiotherapy and faith, I completed my last test and was discharged. I am grateful to God for supporting me at each stage, to my family, friends and all the professionals who were part of this recovery.
Thank you for so much! Thank you for not letting go of my hand!"
Just over two weeks after being discharged, Glória returned to wearing the Corinthians shirt in an official match. After the final whistle of the rout over Brothers, the athlete once again used social media to celebrate her return to the field and thank her for the support she received throughout the process.
"This moment was certainly what I imagined most. Today, putting on my boots and being on the field has a different meaning within me, happy to be back. Thank you to the committee, staff and athletes for being with me in this special moment. Paulista U20, +3!!"
The return comes at an important moment in the season for the team led by Julia Passero. With the recovery completed, Glória is once again an option for the continuation of the Paulista Women's Under-20 Championship and can reinforce Corinthians in the Derby against Palmeiras, scheduled for the next round of the competition, at Arena Barueri.
