According to a statement from the Vatican, the pope met the reggaeton star -whose album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" ("I Should Have Taken More Photos") won the Album of the Year award at this year's Grammys- accompanied by his family and other people. He gave them a brief greeting before leaving the stadium, the statement added.
Leo XIV, who angered US President Donald Trump earlier this year by criticizing the war in Iran, is on a week-long trip to Spain. During his visit to the European country, the pontiff once again warned that the escalation of conflicts has led the world to a "profound crisis".

Coincidentally, provoking Trump's wrath is something that the pope and Bad Bunny have in common.
The singer has been vocal in his criticism of Trump's strict anti-immigration policies and emerged as an opponent of the American president after a historic performance at the Super Bowl halftime show in February, in which sang reggaeton in Spanish at the most important sporting event in the United States. Trump called the presentation "absolutely terrible" and "an affront to the greatness of the United States."
Bad Bunny also supported former vice president Kamala Harris, of the Democratic Party, in the 2024 presidential election.
The pontiff will hold a mass in front of the Sagrada Familia basilica this Wednesday afternoon (10), to mark the inauguration of the iconic church designed by architect Antoni Gaudí.
