Azul Linhas Aéreas received this Thursday (18) the first of five Airbus A330ceo purchased by the company from American Airlines, and which should be used by the airline to reinforce the international network in the United States and Europe, according to the company's CEO, John Rodgerson.

Previously bearing the American registration number N282AY, the aircraft will receive the PS-AHC prefix after being nationalized and must go through some procedures before being incorporated into the company's fleet.

The A330 landed yesterday at Confins International Airport, one of the company's hubs, but with an all-white livery, still without the Brazilian company's traditional livery.

In total, the A330 has a configuration for 247 seats, 20 of which are in business class.

On social media, the executive stated that the new aircraft should strengthen our international operations and support the growth of the company in the coming years, which was in Chapter 11, a judicial recovery program in the United States, but left in February this year after making full payment of the DIP (debtor-in-possession) financing in addition to the settlement of the public share offering

"After an important period of transformation and strengthening of the company, we continue to invest with responsibility and a long-term vision. Seeing these planes arriving, alongside the new A330neo that are also coming into operation, shows that we continue to build Azul's future with confidence, discipline and, above all, with people who believe in what we are doing", he stated.

In addition to the five ceo A330s, Azul is also awaiting the arrival of two new Airbus A330neo, which were ordered new from the factory from the French manufacturer.
