Azul announces partnership with Petrobras for air operations in the North
Azul Linhas Aéreas and Azul Conecta, the company's regional subsidiary, announced this Wednesday (8) a partnership with Petrobras for air operations focused on the North region and the Amazon.
In total, the contract will last four years.
The announcement comes after the airline won the state-owned company's bid to provide air services.
The partnership foresees two routes, Porto Urucu (AM) - Carauari (AM), operated from the Cessna Caravan by Conecta, and Manaus (AM) - Porto Urucu (AM), operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas, from the ATR-72 or Embraer E2.
The operations must meet the demands of the state-owned company, which has the largest production and largest onshore reserves of oil and natural gas in Brazil in the region.
"This achievement reinforces our evolution and recognizes our expertise in operations in remote areas, always focusing on safety, efficiency and operational excellence", said Azul Conecta in a statement.
For the CEO, Vitor Cordeiro, the partnership represents "great relevance" for the company.
"We are convinced that this will be an operation conducted with the same standard of excellence that characterizes both Petrobras and Azul Conecta. We are ready for this new challenge", he stated.
