Attack hits southern region of Iran, says Iranian media

Iranian media reported that a projectile hit the area near a pier in the city of Sirik, in the southern region of Iran, this Friday (26).

The news came after the US military announced it had carried out attacks against Iran.

Iranian media, citing a military source, added that warning shots had been fired hours earlier on Friday at "offending vessels" in the Strait of Hormuz.

Accusations and Trump
Earlier, US President Donald Trump accused Tehran of violating the ceasefire established between the two countries.

According to the American president, the Iranian regime fired at least four drones at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, hitting at least one cargo vessel. That ship was damaged but continued sailing.

Trump also stated that the US shot down three drones.

"Obviously, this is a senseless violation of our ceasefire agreement," commented the president in a publication in Truth Social.

The United States and Iran agreed to maintain a ceasefire to negotiate a permanent end to the war.

The memorandum of understanding signed between the two nations has 14 points, according to a document released by the American government.
