Atletas de futsal do Corinthians representam o clube em conquista de Mundial Universitário com o Brasil

Last Tuesday (7), the Brazilian Futsal Team faced Portugal, in a duel valid for the final of the Fisu World University Championship, similar to a University World Cup, and won a score of 8 x 5. In the competition, held in Warsaw, Poland, two Corinthians athletes were present: Vitor Koji (goalkeeper) and Papagaio (fixed player).

Both were part of the Brazilian delegation together with Universidade Paulista (UNIP), which has maintained a partnership with Corinthians since 2008 in the sport. Vitor Koji foi eleito o melhor goleiro da competição. Papagaio, in turn, was the captain of Canarinho, which accumulated five wins and one draw, scoring 30 goals (five per game) and conceding just 10 (1.6 per game).

The Brazilian team's progress was indicated against Israel, an opponent they won 10 x 0. They then drew 1 x 1 with Portugal, and ended the first phase by beating Finland 2 x 1. In the knockout stage, they beat France, by a score of 3 x 2, in the quarter-finals. Posteriormente, antes de bater Portugal na decisão, venceu a Polônia na semifinal por 6 x 1.

Vitor Koji and Papagaio were trained in Corinthians' futsal youth categories and have been absent from matches in the National League (LNF) and Campeonato Paulista.

Currently the main team's third goalkeeper, Koji has played 19 professional games - three this year, with 14 wins, one draw and four defeats. Ele fez parte das conquistas do torneio Internacional Mucho Más, na Espanha, e da Taça São Paulo, ambas em 2025.

Papagaio, por outro lado, atua no profissional há quatro temporadas, fazendo parte das mesmas conquistas que Koji. Ao todo, o fixo possui 62 jogos pelo Timão, com 37 vitórias, 10 empates e 15 derrotas, com nove gols e uma assistência.
