Atlas: 50.5% of Brazilians have a positive view of the USA

More than half of Brazilians have a positive view of the United States, according to an Atlas/Intel report released this Tuesday (3).

According to the survey, 50.5% of respondents claim to have a positive perception of the North American country. Another 46.4% said they had a negative view, while 3.1% responded that they did not know how to evaluate.

The numbers represent a recovery in the image of the United States among Brazilians in relation to surveys carried out throughout 2025.

In January 2025, the positive perception of the United States was 52.3%, while 44.5% had a negative view of the country. Another 3.3% were unable to answer.

In April 2025, the negative evaluation began to exceed the positive. At that time, 49% of those interviewed said they had a negative view of the USA, compared to 45% who declared a positive perception. Another 6% were unable to answer.

The trend continued in subsequent surveys. In July 2025, the negative image reached 50.5%, while the positive image was 45.9%. In October, the rates were 52% and 45%, respectively.

The Atlas survey interviewed 1,273 Brazilian adults digitally between May 30 and June 3, 2026.

When asked about their view of US President Donald Trump, Brazilians had a different opinion.

According to the survey, 54.8% of respondents say they have a negative view of the American leader, while 41.7% say they have a positive image. Another 3.5% responded that they did not know how to evaluate.
