Athletico-PR beat Remo 2-1 this Sunday (24), at the Mangueirão Stadium, in Belém, in the match valid for the 17th round of the Brasileirão.

With the result, Furacão ended a negative sequence and entered the G4 of the national competition, with 27 points achieved. Remo, on the other hand, remains in the relegation zone, with 15.

The match
Remo opened the scoring 13 minutes into the first half. Marcelinho crossed from the right and Jajá appeared to finish first and send it into the back of the net. The striker scored his fourth goal in 18 matches for the club from Pará.

Athletico responded shortly afterwards in a controversial move. Claudinho sent a cross, the goalkeeper made the save and, after a deflection by the defense, the ball hit Bruno Zapelli's arm before entering the goal. The referee analyzed the move in the VAR booth and canceled the draw. Before the break, Kevin Viveros scored and left everything even.

In the second half, Furacão turned things around after just seven minutes. After a hesitation from Remo's defense, Viveros received it freely and finished calmly to score his second of the match. The striker scored his tenth goal in the Brasileirão and took over the competition's top scorer.

Remo still had a penalty awarded in their favor after Claudinho fouled Marcelinho, but the referee annulled the decision after a VAR review. In the final minutes, Leozinho scored for Athletico, but the move also ended up being invalidated.
